Commodity exchanges are being emulated in West Africa. The Association of Securities
Dealing Houses of Nigeria (ASHON) set to inaugurate the Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange
(LCFE), after launching a mock exercise on 15 November. The exchange will list 40 agricultural products,
including sesame, sorghum, millet and maize but also, oil country obliges, will be exchanged for oil and
gas as well as solid minerals and currencies. A scholarship that fits into a context where the country
demonstrates, once again, its desire to diversify its economy and encourages investment in
agriculture but also when the stock market is down.

The LCFE, led by ASHON and the State of Lagos, received in June its approval from the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC). It is led by Akinsola Akeredolu-Ale.

Twenty-three trading companies have been admitted to the LCFE, while approximately 750 professionals have been
selected for training.

In November 2018, Ghana opened its first agricultural commodity exchange (see our information The

d'Ivoire, the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) is working on the creation of a stock exchange in Korhogo
