At around 09:25 GMT (11:25 a.m. CET), a barrel of North Sea Brent crude for June delivery was down 1.57 percent to $106.63. A barrel of U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for delivery in the same month was down 1.72 percent at $101.66. A rise in U.S. rates aims to slow inflation but weighs on economic activity and therefore the consumption of black gold.
