The last Council of Ministers drew up a financial report on the collection and use of royalties collected from the sector.
The cocoa sector is progressing with an increase in production of 2.56% in 2021 compared to last year at 2.228 million tonnes (Mt) and exports at 2.309 Mt, up 13.89%. On the other hand, the coffee sector is very much in decline. Production fell by 25.58% to 61,312 tonnes and exports plummeted by 43.88% to 46,163 tonnes.
According to the communiqué of the Council of Ministers, investments amount to FCFA 30.538 billion (€46 million) in 2021. The fees levied for the operation of the Coffee and Cocoa Council (CCC) amounted to FCFA 30.096 billion (almost €46 million), up 8.35% on 2020. As for the fees collected for the investment funds, they totaled FCFA 22.799 billion (€34.75 million), up 0.98%.
