Interventions are multiplying to deal with the increase in food prices. In Côte d'Ivoire, the executive decided on Wednesday March 30 in the Council of Ministers to abolish customs duties applied to wheat purchases on the international market.

This exemption should help reduce the impact of rising wheat prices on the price of bread flour in the Eburnean nation. This provision is part of the battery of measures announced by the government for the benefit of the flour-bakery industry to fight against the high cost of living and preserve the purchasing power of consumers. These include the allocation of financial support for wheat flour manufacturers to ensure a regular supply to the market. Added to this is the creation of a specific guarantee line for the bakery-pastry sector within the Support Fund for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (FSPME) and/or the granting of an envelope of 1 to 2 billion Fcfa grants to support the emergence of national champions in the industry.
