94% of insurance-related disputes were settled out of court by the Observatory for the Quality of Financial Services (OQSF). This was possible thanks to mediation.

The OQSF had to deal with 3,500 litigation cases for a total outstanding amount of 5 billion CFA francs. The information was revealed during a public information meeting on insurance initiated by the OQSF, the National Agricultural Insurance Company of Senegal (CNAAS), and the Insurance Department. "Of the 3,500 files received by the OQSF since 2010, in relation to disputes relating to insurance in Senegal, 94% did not end up in court thanks to an amicable settlement", declared the financial mediator in in charge of insurance at the OQSF, Amadou Kane Diallo. According to him, ''the holding of a public information meeting on insurance has two objectives: the popularization of the mediation system and the promotion of agricultural insurance products''.
