As a prelude to the official launch of the 2022 campaign for the cashew sector, scheduled for February 8, the Cotton and Cashew Council has just carried out an awareness mission for the various players in the sector in the Worodougou and Béré regions. On the occasion, the ambitions of this new campaign were unveiled.

According to Dr Ouattara Mariam, director of production at the Cotton and Cashew Council, Côte d'Ivoire has won the production bet by making cashew nuts the second agricultural export product after cocoa. National cashew nut production reached 968,676 tonnes in 2021, accounting for almost a quarter of global production. According to him, the country hopes to reach one million tons in 2022. Quality being an essential variable in all competitive strategies, the authority called on producers to commit to the production of well-dried cashew nuts and well sorted.
