International market: The ton of copper and cobalt on the rise

During the week of December 06 to 11, 2021, the ton of copper and that of cobalt recorded a price increase on the international market, selling respectively at 9,752 USD and 63,145 against 9,603.4 USD and 61,232.85 USD the week of November 29 to December 04, 2021.

In a press release published on Tuesday, the Congolese Commission of Mercurial Prices of the Ministry of Foreign Trade indicates that several mining products have experienced a price increase on the international market. In addition to copper and cobalt, the structure listed zinc and tin also observe an increase in prices in the market during the same period under review. They trade respectively at 3,372 USD and 40,398 USD against 3,271.7 USD and 39,655 USD per ton.

The same source further indicates that merchant mining commodities such as gold and silver are experiencing a decline in price at the indicated time frame, selling at 58.03 and 0.76 USD respectively against 59.83 and 0, 80 USD per gram, the week under examination. The source notes, however, that tantalum remained stable on the international market during the same period, trading at 263.00 USD/kg. In addition, one kilogram of Arabica coffee is on the rise, selling at 4.15 against 3.95 USD per kilogram the week of November 29 to December 04, 2021. Robusta coffee and rubber are experiencing price stability by trading respectively 2 .26 Euro/Kg and 0.8 Euro/Kg. Cocoa, on the other hand, observes a drop in price, selling at 1.20 against 1.31 USD/kg.
