Brent and WTI rocketed higher yesterday, as OPEC+ (OPEC, Russia and other allies) agreed to maintain production increases at 400,000 barrels per day. However, in the gas market, where shale remains the marginal producer, production increases are limited by companies' commitment to return capital to shareholders. Energy shortages are particularly severe in the UK.
