Speaking at the opening of his ministry's sixth advisory council, Diamantino de Azevedo said new platforms will be added to the four others already operational. Six in number, these fall within the framework of the strategy aimed at reversing the current situation of a sharp drop in production.

Angola plans to commission six more oil rigs by the end of the first half of 2022. Diamantino de Azevedo informed that the general strategy for granting oil concessions 2019-2025 also includes ongoing actions carried out by the National Petroleum and Gas Agency (ANPG), to mitigate the decline in production in the short, medium and long term. This strategy, he continued, approved by the executive in 2019, provides for the auction of more than 50 blocks, through a public tender and direct negotiations, to promote foreign direct investment. in the national petroleum industry and ensure the expansion of Angolan geological and petroleum knowledge.
