Under the purging of customary rights for the transfer of 24 hectares to the Transcao company for the construction of a cocoa processing unit, the peasants of two villages, Kablaké and Poro received checks on February 23, 2021. The compensation ceremony was held at the Prefecture of San-Pedro.

The people displaced from the site for the construction of the Transcao cocoa processing plant in San-PEDRO were compensated last week. The beneficiaries received compensation checks relating to 3 hectares of destroyed crops and 21 hectares of areas not yet developed.

These compensations, which amount to 215 million CFA francs, were paid by the Ministry of Trade and Industry through the Industrial Development Fund (FODI). The Transcao factory, a structure of the Coffee-Cocoa Council, will transform cocoa beans into semi-finished products for a processing capacity of 50,000 tonnes for the first year, to reach a capacity of 100,000 tonnes in the second year.

Recall that in June 2020, a first compensation had been made to the tune of 45.5 million for the first wave of farmers.
