Solidaridad west Africa, a civil society organization, organized on July 25, in the Plateau, a
presentation of its annual results of phase 2 of the program to promote the production of olive oil
sustainable palm in West Africa .
After a year of implementation of the second phase in Côte d'Ivoire, Solidaridad shared with the
actors of the sector the vision of the program, the progress and activities in the process of validation. Said program
runs from 2017 to 2021 in Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Its purpose is to adopt, on a large scale, the sustainable intensification of oil palm cultivation and the
palm fruit processing . This objective can only be achieved through the active participation of
small and medium enterprises (sme). According to Sophiatou Abeke Colliee, Palm Program Manager ,
this non-profit structure, it is a question of facilitating access to financing for SMEs, strengthening
skills for employability in this sector, to contribute to a sustainable increase in productivity.
This program financed by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is an opportunity, according to Saphiatou Colliee,
to encourage producers to adopt good practices, to maintain the orchards in good condition. The students and
students are among the targets for learning about oil palm cultivation. Kouame Joel, at
name of the business attaché of the Netherlands in Côte d'Ivoire, indicated that this country attaches importance
to agricultural products. This is why palm oil is one of the imported products.
