Luanda, June 18 — The oil company British Petroleum Angola has invested at least 100 million dollars in social projects over the past five years, its managing director, Hélder da Silva, announced on Monday in Luanda.

Speaking to the press, after a meeting with the Economy and Finance Commission of the National Assembly of Angola, the official said that during the same period, the company had also granted more than 300 million US dollars to domestic enterprises.

He added that the oil company had invested more than 30 billion USD in the exploitation of blocks 30 and 18, as well as in blocks 15 and 17 (to be exploited) and in the Angola LNG project.

On the other hand, Hélder da Silva also indicated that 88% of the staff of BP Angola are of Angolan nationality.

In terms of investments, BP Angola already has two oil tankers called "FP and SOS", which are working to reduce fixed oil production, this year, to 137,000 barrels / day, in the two blocks in which it operates (31 and 18), he said.
