In October and November, i.e. over the first two months of the 2019/20 campaign, cocoa exports (40% of total Ivorian exports) reached 233,679 tonnes (t), up 19% compared to the same first two month of the previous campaign.

It should be noted that the export volumes for the month of October alone have been revised considerably upwards, rising from 6 412 t estimated previously to 11 907 t now.

On the other hand - and this is the only shadow in this statistical picture - exports of semi-finished cocoa products fell by 18% over the same two months, to 57 278 t. These are cocoa powder and butter as well as chocolate.

From January to November 2019, coffee bean exports jumped by 43%, to 98,470 t. Here again, the October figures have been revised upwards, from an estimated 5,761 t to 10,479 t.

With regard to natural rubber over these first 11 months of 2019, shipments rose by more than 19%, totaling 756,876 t. The October figures were very strongly corrected, going from 49,311 t to 94,131 t.

And cotton is not left out! Also from January to November, international sales increased by 7%, to 375,695 t. Recall that the fiber from landlocked countries such as Mali and Burkina Faso are routed to Abidjan and shipped from there. The statistics for October have also been revised upwards, from the 9,404 t announced in the port's previous monthly report to 13,153 t.
