The managers of Caisse Des Dépôts et Consignations de d'Ivoire (CDC-CI) and the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions of Côte d'Ivoire (APBEF-CI), met on Thursday, December 19, 2019 in Abidjan, to exchange. In line of sight, the concerted management of funds of Notaries' Clients housed in banks.

The CDC-CI is intended to mobilize long-term resources, ensure secure management and contribute to the financing of the economy through investments of general interest. In this context, it meets with all the players in the Ivorian economy. Thus, after a first meeting in July 2019 to establish the basis of a collaboration with APBEF-CI, the meeting of Thursday, December 19, was aimed at strengthening the achievements through exchanges on the mechanism of concerted management of funds of Notaries' Clients housed in banks. The two entities agreed on the practical and consensual modalities of implementation of this new device.

Pursuant to Law No. 2018-574 of June 13, 2018, which requires Notaries to deposit their Clients' Funds with the CDC-CI, the process of opening Notaries' accounts with the Caisse de Dépôts et Consignations began on November1, 2019.

At the end of the meeting, Lassina Fofana, Director General of CDC-CI, invited all stakeholders (Notaries, their clients and banks) to comply with the new law.

The APBEF-CI, through its third vice-president, Mr. Léonce Yacé, General Manager of NSIA BANQUE, committed itself to strengthen the collaboration with the CDC-CI and to accompany it in its missions.

It is worth recalling that the new management system of the Notaries' Clients' Funds will come into force in January 2020.
