The African Development Bank ( www.AfDB.org ) launched, on Thursday, October 31 in Tunis, the program
"Investia Enterprise" to strengthen the dynamic of financial inclusion in favor of small and medium-sized enterprises
Tunisian companies (SMEs).

This operation is the result of a partnership between the United Kingdom and the Tunisian Ministry of Finance,
mobilizing, around the Tunis Stock Exchange, all the actors of the ecosystem
country's financial. The objective of this pilot program is to facilitate access to non-bank financing at
more than 120 SMEs.

This operation will be implemented in two phases: after a pre-selection, “Investia Enterprise”
will support the selected operators in the development of their business plan with a view to raising
funds from the capital markets.
“I am convinced that we must continue to support the Tunis Stock Exchange so that it
be able to offer more innovative financing solutions to the wide diversity of
Tunisian economic operators,” declared the head of the Tunisian government, Youssef Chahed.

“Through “Investia Entreprise”, we are renewing our commitment to supporting the development of
SME. Alongside the Tunisian government, we are determined to remove all the constraints that
affect the development and growth potential of the country's private sector", confirmed Mohamed El
Azizi, Managing Director of the African Development Bank for the North Africa region.
“This launch celebrates the success of a tripartite cooperation for the benefit of the Tunisian private sector. We
are proud of our partnership with the African Development Bank in an area so
strategic for the development of the country", rejoiced the Ambassador of Great Britain in Tunisia,
Louise De Sousa.

By facilitating access to financing for SMEs, which alone constitute 97% of the economic fabric
Tunisia, the Bank is promoting a new job-creating dynamic for young people and women in
the country.

The institution is thus consolidating its support for Tunisia in this area with the launch, in 2019, of three
new operations improving the financing conditions of economic operators for an amount
total of 270 million euros.

The partnership between the African Development Bank and Tunisia has covered, for almost a
half a century, the sectors of energy, water, transport, agriculture, social development and
information and communication technologies.Copyright - AFRICAN MANAGER - 2019 - All
