Based in Carros, the SME employs a total of 65 people in two establishments: La Compagnie du Midi

organic). The latter two now represent 20 to 25% of its monthly export turnover,
covering some twenty countries, compared to three just six years ago. At the same time, in 2017 the SME launched La Droguerie d'Amélie, a brand of ecological cleaning products for the home, distributed in large

EMS Proto: electronic boards in the blink of an eye
Created in 2015
Location: Martillac - New Aquitaine
Sector of activity: manufacture of electronic board prototypes
Directors: Pierre-Yves Sempère -Damien Michaud
Staff: 30
Turnover: €1.60 million
Both engineers, Pierre-Yves Sempère and Damien Michaud created EMS Proto when they were still
in office. The first is at the head of his own design office, while the second works within a
large industrial group. This is to respond to a problem of excessively long lead times and excessively high costs
during the production of electronic cards - in the prototyping phase and not the industrialization phase - that the duo
creates its own structure. Anxious to respond to this well-identified lack among manufacturers, EMS Proto
shortens the deadlines to 72 hours maximum, against 20 days usually. It is this feature that makes
small business success quickly. Especially since it combines this idea with a web platform, which
allows customers to indicate the technical constraints and quantify the cost of making a card
electronic. A service particularly appreciated by engineers. In 2018, Pierre-Yves' company
Sempère and Damien Michaud is already on the right track: EMS Proto shows 77% growth. And for
cope with this increase in activity, it is a brand new production site which welcomes the small
business. This one also multiplies its production surface by 7. What to accompany the
development of the company which, anxious to remain in a good dynamic and in order to continue to be
efficient, is planning a new version of its platform. EMS Proto R&D team is working on it
currently.

Daan Technologies will make you love its dishwasher
Created in 2016
Location: Montreuil - Ile-de-France

Bob was born from the mind of Damian Py, originally from Vaucluse, and his partner, Antoine Fichet. But Bob the

Nevertheless, in January 2018, the two entrepreneurs approached S20Industries, on the former site of
Fagor-Brandt, in Vendée, and benefit from the expertise of the dishwasher expert during a
half day per week. Because the duo has a specific idea: “to make a premium product that is affordable”
but also made in France. Aini, S20 Industries is in charge of assembly and plastic injection,
the electronics also come from a Vendée subcontractor, while the tank comes from
Rhône-Alpes. In addition to its French manufacture, Bob was designed to be repairable after ten years
of use.
The closure of S20 Industries last May could have destabilized or even stopped Daan's adventure
Technologies. On the contrary, this turnaround confirms the young company in its desire to
control the whole chain. Since then, it has therefore taken over part of the staff, including a manager
technician and two engineers with twenty years of experience in the manufacture of dishwashers. Yes
this closure postpones the production of the 6,300 orders received by a few months, it allows the
startup to own its own factory in Vendée. This decision places Daan Technologies in a
well-structured ecosystem. ¦
