Contemporary Amperex Technology Co, Limited (CATL) is partnering with Indonesian companies ANTAM and IBI in the Indonesia EV Battery Integration Project. With a joint investment of nearly $6 billion, the project focuses on nickel mining and processing, battery materials, battery manufacturing and recycling.

CATL's partnership with Indonesia marks an important step in expanding CATL's international footprint and will promote the electric vehicle industry in Indonesia. A tripartite framework agreement was with PT Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) and PT Industri Baterai Indonesia (IBI) to cooperate on the EV battery integration project in Indonesia, which includes nickel mining and processing, EV battery materials, battery manufacturing and recycling. With a joint investment of US$5.968 billion, the project is located in the FHT Industrial Park in East Halmahera, North Maluku Province, as well as other locations in the country.
