The procedures for removing Mauritius from the European Union (EU) list of high-risk countries – commonly referred to as the European blacklist – are now complete. The decision taken by the European Commission was endorsed by the European Parliament and Council of Ministers. This was announced in the Official Journal of the European Union on the 21st. The official exit from Mauritius is therefore effective as of March 13th. The decree was circulated at European Parliament and Council level on 7 February. The members had a period of one month to express any objections.
