The Letlhakane uranium project, led by Australia's A-Cap Energy, should benefit greatly from an amendment passed in the Botswana parliament allowing the exploitation of uranium in the country without infringing nuclear non-proliferation laws.

A-Cap Energy, this Australian mining junior is the only one to explore for uranium in the country with its Letlhakane project, which began in 2008. After obtaining a twenty-two-year exploitation permit in 2016, the junior was supposed to start work before October 2021, but obtained an additional three-year extension from the Ministry of Mines. The firm is still waiting for an improvement in the conditions of the global uranium market before embarking on the construction of the mine, the deposit not being profitable at 43 $/lb, the current "spot" price.
