During his recent visit to Brazzaville, Sidi Ould Tah, Managing Director of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) announced an investment of 50 million dollars for Congo. This support is part of the establishment of the Maloukou Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

The financing agreement of approximately 28.8 billion FCFA is intended exclusively for the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Maloukou, with a low interest rate between 1.5 to 2.5%. The financing agreement for the construction of the Maloukou SEZ was signed on July 11, 2021. North of Brazzaville, the site has a large land reserve, combining the Asperbras industrial zone, a business park and a new city intended to accommodate the employees of the ZES, their families, as well as the population drained by the induced activities. The Congolese authorities have planned various activities there, in particular the revitalization of the palm grove sector (transformation of palm oil, for example, into edible oil and soap); horticulture (flowers, fruits and vegetables); construction materials (cement, aggregates, bricks/tiles); the development of logistics activities (transport, packaging, storage).
