In Togo, the tariffs of telecom operators are among the most expensive in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) zone. The information was revealed in a comparative analysis of the tariffs of telecom operators, carried out by the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Posts (ARCEP), the results of which were made public this Thursday, February 3, 2022.

While conventional telephone calls (excluding packages) are among the cheapest in the area, ARCEP indicates that communication remains high in Togo. Regarding 100% mobile data packages, Togo is positioned among the highest rates in the area with rates up to 25 times more expensive than the best rate in the area, specifies ARCEP. In the segment of 100% voice plans, the rates charged in Togo are among the highest in the Union, up to 4 times more expensive than the best rate in the area. And with regard to mixed packages, the Togolese telecoms policeman indicates that the rates charged in Togo are within the regional average.
