The West African Development Bank (BOAD) announced on Monday, January 17, 2022, that it had signed a series of insurance policies, intended to secure its commitments and its capacity to mobilize resources.

BOAD has just subscribed to a series of insurance policies to cover the risk of non-payment of part of the portfolio of projects it finances. As part of the policy of active management of its balance sheet, this approach, according to the press release made available to the media, will allow the development banking institution to rely on ratings from 'A' to 'AA ' specialized insurers based in London and Paris. BOAD will thus share, through this subscription, part of its exposure to the risk of non-reimbursement of its debtors and will then benefit from the possibility of increasing its capacity to mobilize resources for the benefit of its Member States and the private sector of the country.
