The Autonomous Trade Union Federation of Banks, Insurance and Microfinance of Guinea (FESABAG) is concerned about the application of the new General Tax Code. In a letter dated January 13, 2022 addressed to the Minister of the Budget, the Federation expressed concern about the promulgation of this Code.

The Deputy Secretary General of FESABAG, Abdoul Gadri Diallo underlines that this modification of the Withholding of Taxes on Salary and Salary (RTS), as planned without prior consultation of the social partners, will have a direct and negative impact on the life of all workers above all, in this period of the Covid-19 pandemic when the whole world is supporting efforts, by adopting accompanying measures in order to stabilize the purchasing power of households. Similarly, FESABAG sent another letter to the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea (BCRG), to affirm its deep concern about the decree regulating electronic transactions in the Republic of Guinea. For Abdoul Gadri Diallo, FESABAG rather expects the government to adopt measures to support companies in reducing tax burdens, which represent a considerable burden and a threat to jobs.
