The head of the Moroccan government, Aziz Akhannouch held a working meeting by videoconference in Rabat on Wednesday with the president of the National Financial Intelligence Authority (ANRF), Jawhar N'fissi, devoted to the presentation of the annual report of the said authority for the year 2020. This ceremony was held in accordance with the provisions of Law 43-05 relating to the fight against money laundering as amended and supplemented.

The government and the FSNA have reviewed the means favoring the improvement of action and the development of activities related to financial intelligence. The report presented to the Head of Government notes an increase in the indicators of NARF's activity in 2020 on the register of suspicious transaction reports, up 23% compared to 2019, adding that the report, on the other hand, mentions a consistency in 2020 in terms of the exchange of information between the said authority and its foreign counterparts active in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

In terms of efficiency, 2020 was marked by the preparation of a report on the post-observation period for the FATF's international cooperation review group as well as the taking of numerous decisions and the publication of guidance notes and guides, in addition to support in the preparation of texts by supervisory and control authorities of the financial and non-financial sectors. And this, in order to improve the level of respect for international standards, a better understanding of legal judgments and their application.
