After a drop in these revenues in the first half of 2020 due to the health crisis linked to Covid-19, the first half of 2021 produced better results. Indeed, it is marked by an increase in export earnings of 191 billion F (21.5%) year on year. Cameroon therefore records export earnings worth 1,080 billion F for 3.8 million tonnes of goods, can we read in the report on foreign trade in the first half of 2021 that has just been published, on its website the National Institute of Statistics.
The research center explains that this performance is due to the improvement in sales of certain main export products. These are essentially crude petroleum oils, which increased by 30.7%; raw cocoa beans (34.2%); raw cotton (59.3%); sawn wood (6.6%) and wood in logs (13.8%).
