The Bolloré group has signed an exclusive agreement with MSC for the sale of its port concessions and its forwarding activity in Africa. The negotiations relate to an enterprise value of 5.7 billion euros.

The Bolloré group announced on Monday evening that it had signed an exclusivity agreement and had received an offer from the Swiss shipowner MSC, for all its transport and logistics activities in Africa, on the basis of an enterprise value of 5 .7 billion euros. The group has granted exclusivity to MSC until March 31, 2022 with a view to a possible promise to purchase. The assets concerned, housed in Bolloré Africa Logistics, and not detailed in the press release, would be the concessions of around 42 ports, including 25 for containers, in particular in Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon and even Congo, and three lines railways operated by the French in Africa. Also included in the sale are three ports in Haiti, India and Timor, and another big chunk, the African freight forwarding business, along with a network of warehouses. Hence the high transaction price.
