Investments in the Autonomous Port of Abidjan (PAA) should amount to approximately 1,100 billion CFA francs from 2011 to 2022. These figures were revealed by the Ivorian Minister of Transport, Amadou Koné during a visit by the South African President. , Cyril Ramaphosa.

"Regarding the port of Abidjan, it is about 1,100 billion CFA francs of investment, between 2011 and 2022, in large-scale projects to fundamentally modernize the first Ivorian port", said Amadou Koné. The completed projects and those in progress, scheduled to be completed in 2022, should allow the Port of Abidjan to be ready for the reception of large vessels and the processing of goods in terms of loading and unloading as well as storage. . All the investments should make it possible to increase transhipment traffic, to bring the container handling capacity of the port of Abidjan to 2.5 million TEUs/year (against 1 million TEUs/year previously).
