The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) are disbursing USD 120 million in loans to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This funding will be used to promote the agribusiness sector.

The DRC will receive USD 120 million in concessional loans under the Kinshasa City 14 Arteries Project. The agreements were signed this Thursday, November 25 in the Congolese capital. These projects relate to priority sectors of the Congolese government's program. These are agriculture, agro-business and road infrastructure. The AfDB loan has a maturity of 40 years. The grace period is 10 years, with an interest rate of 2% between the 11th and 20th year and 4% for the rest of the maturity. The maturity of the BADEA loan is 25 years while the interest rate is 3% and the grace period is 6 years.
