Entered into office on May 10, 2021, the College of Commissioners of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), headed by President Abdoulaye Diop, now has a roadmap for the period 2021-2025. Through a press conference held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, by videoconference, the sub-regional institution exposed to the media, the essentials of the Priority Actions Framework (CAP 2025) which constitutes its roadmap.

Responding to the challenges to be met in the short term to accelerate the economic growth of the Member States, the UEMOA Commission/mandate 2021-2025, has just adopted a Framework of Priority Actions for the period 2021-2025 ( CAP 2025). Essentially based on three (03) areas of intervention that will materialize twenty-three (23) flagship actions in line with the key provisions of the amended Treaty. This instrument, over the next four (04) years, should make it possible to assess the progress made in the Union's integration process, in particular on the three specific objectives of CAP 2025, which are: Accelerating economic convergence and deepening the common market ; Consolidate structuring sectoral actions for a viable economic space and Strengthen governance and organizational performance.

CAP 2025 reflects, according to President Abdoulaye Diop, the ambitions and commitment of the College of Commissioners of UEMOA in terms of achievements and objectively measurable results by 2025. To consolidate institutional governance (axis 3), the Commission intends to carry out six (06) flagship actions, namely: the establishment and operationalization of strategic management tools; the continued implementation of the program budget; enhancement and strengthening of internal skills; the strengthening of mechanisms for the mobilization and governance of financial resources; building capacities for mobilizing partnerships and absorbing external resources; and the establishment of systems for steering and monitoring policies, programs and reforms.
