In an article published on November 17, 2021, an Ivorian daily talks about the embezzlement of several billions of which the Director General of Customs Da Pierre Alphonse is the author. In a declaration, the direction of the customs is explained.

The article deplores the embezzlement of 4 billion from the TS, the confiscation of the sum of 2.8 billion saved at the BNI Gestion by the mutualists and the confiscation of the assets of the Syndicat pour la Défense des Droits des Douaniers de Côte d'Ivoire ( SDDD-CI) by the Director of General Resources on the instructions of the Director General. In its statement, the General Management explains that with regard to the subject relating to customs fraud tolerated at the borders by the General Manager, this has not been proven, especially since General Da Pierre Alphonse has made the fight against fraud a major concern. Paragraph by paragraph it has been demonstrated that there can be no misappropriation in all of the facts denounced.
