At the second close of Airtel money's minority investment transactions with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), TPG, an American private equity firm, and Mastercard, Airtel Africa Plc announced on November 16, 2021, to have reached 125 million of dollars.

The fundraising follows previously announced investment transactions by the three companies between March 18 and July 30, 2021. Mastercard, TPG and QIA previously invested in the secondary purchase of shares of Airtel Mobile Commerce BV (AMC BV), a subsidiary of Airtel Africa. Simon O'Hara, the group secretary of Airtel Africa Group informs in a note published on the Nigerian Exchange Limited, the conditions of the second closing having now been met, TPG and QIA have each invested an additional 50 million dollars, and Mastercard 25 million additional dollars, in the secondary purchase of shares of AMC BV from a subsidiary of Airtel Africa.
