Senegal signs two financing agreements with the German Development Bank (KFW). This partnership falls within the framework of the integration of renewable energies and the facility for the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Senegal and KFW signed two agreements for a total amount of 28.1 billion CFA francs. The financing granted in the form of donations amounts respectively to 16.3 billion CFA francs and 11.8 billion CFA francs, said the Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation, Amadou Hott, at the occasion of the signing ceremony of these two conventions. This took place in the presence of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dakar, Sonke Siemon, and the Director General of KFW, Karl Von Klizing. The SME growth facility, also known as the Oyas capital fund, is a mezzanine debt financing fund, i.e. "debt considered as capital or equity that makes it possible to attract bank debt" estimated at more than 70 billion CFA francs. Regarding the project on the integration of renewable energies, which relates to the installation of energy storage systems by batteries, it will be executed by Senelec, under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.
