Commissioner Jonas Gbian paid a working visit to Lomé on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. On the occasion, he exchanged with the President of BOAD, the Managing Director of the Regional Mortgage Refinancing Fund of UEMOA (CRRH –UEMOA) and the Resident Representative of the World Bank in Togo.

The interview with the President of the West African Development Bank, Serge Ekué and the Commissioner in charge of the Community Territory Planning and Transport Department focused on the challenges to be met by the Union in key development sectors such as such as transport, social housing, the environment, among others. Discussions with Christian Agossa, Managing Director of CRRH–UEMOA, concerned the state of implementation of the Affordable Housing Financing Program (PFLA). This regional project financed by the World Bank (IDA Window) aims to broaden access to long-term housing finance in WAEMU, including for low-income and irregular households. The regional coordination of the PFLA is ensured by the UEMOA Commission and while the CRRH – UEMOA is the Executing Agency. With Hawa Cissé Wague, Resident Representative of the World Bank in Togo, Commissioner Jonas Gbian has specificities expressed to the WAEMU Commission by the Togolese authorities, to be taken into account in the implementation of the PFLA project in Togo.
