The results of the Barometer of Beninese companies in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the SDGs were published during the third edition of the CSR Meetings organized in Cotonou. Recognizing the evolution of an increasingly CSR-friendly ecosystem, the study reveals that enormous challenges remain in this area.

The CSR Barometer, SDGs of companies analyzed 764 Beninese companies from several sectors of activity: banks, industry, tourism, energy, transport, agriculture, etc. According to this study, Benin has made efforts to make the ecosystem more and more favorable to CSR in Benin. These are the government's commitment to the SDGs, the establishment of a CSR Working Group, the CSR Charter and the dynamism of the private sector. The Barometer recommends the training of private sector actors and civil servants, the introduction of CSR in university modules, the establishment of a CSR label, etc. and the adoption of policies favorable to CSR. Presented by Thierry TENE, Managing Director of Cabinet Afrique RSE, the study reveals that Beninese companies rarely publish information related to their governance or their shareholding. 64.71% of organizations/companies in Benin state that they are engaged in a CSR approach. But the vast majority do not have a Corporate Social Responsibility Manager (CSR).
