More than USD 26 billion in payments were made in the countries of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) electronically in 2020. The information comes from the report of electronic money payment services for the year 2020.

The Bank of Central African States (BEAC) reveals in its report on electronic money payment services for the year 2020 that payments and transactions by electronic means, over the past five years, have remained on a curve scalable. The number of transactions increased from 977 million to 1102 million and stood at 1631 billion FCFA. Between 2019 and 2020, activity increased by 30.28%, while the number of service points increased by 40.95%. During the period under review, the average value of daily transactions was 40.6 billion (70 million dollars) against 31 billion the previous year, an increase of 30.96%.
