The State/Private Sector meeting opened on Monday, October 14, 2019 in Bobo-Dioulasso, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Christophe Joseph Marie Dabiré. A privileged framework for exchanges between the State and the private sector, the 2nd edition of the national meeting of the Framework for Consultation and Orientation for State/Private Sector Dialogue is being held on October 14 and 15, 2019 in Bobo-Dioulasso, under the theme “Strategies for the integration of Burkinabè companies into national, regional and international value chains”. The opening of the meeting was held on Monday, October 14, 2019 in Bobo-Dioulasso, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Christophe Joseph Marie Dabiré. The objective of this dialogue is to remove in a concerted way the obstacles to the emergence of a private sector that creates jobs and wealth, said Mr. Dabiré. The present meeting, according to the head of government, is the culmination of an "innovative" process which involved all the actors both at regional and sectoral level. Indeed, from June 27 to 6, 2019, consultations were held in the 13 regional capitals which made it possible to examine the concerns of the private sector at the level of each region. The major recommendations resulting from the regional meetings as well as the specific concerns of the different sectors of activity were discussed during the sectoral consultations held on September 17, 23 and 24, 2019. The second meeting is therefore an opportunity, in the opinion of the Head of Government, to discuss the concrete actions to be initiated for the implementation of the recommendations resulting from the preliminary discussions. According to the Prime Minister, Burkina Faso must find the ways and means to promote the competitiveness of its companies in a highly competitive international environment. 2022 in sight

The representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso, Lassiné Diawara, expressed his gratitude to the government for its initiatives in favor of the private sector.

One of the best strategies to achieve this is to ensure the insertion of companies in value chains, he continued. "The government's vision is to lead Burkina Faso to integrate into global value chains, by claiming significant market shares of manufactured products at the national, regional and international levels", he said. he added, emphasizing that the overall objective of the national industrialization strategy stems from this logic. "The successful implementation of such a strategy will make it possible to significantly increase, by 2022, the share of manufacturing industry in GDP and that of manufactured products in Burkina Faso's exports", indicated the Prime Minister. To achieve these objectives, the government says it is counting on the “relevant” reflections and proposals of the participants during these exchanges. The representative of the president of the chamber of commerce and industry of Burkina Faso, Lassiné Diawara, moreover, president of the consular delegation of Hauts-Bassins, expressed his gratitude to the government for its initiatives in favor of the private sector.

Indeed, while welcoming the support of local companies in the certification and standardization of their products, Mr. Diawara was delighted with the choice of theme for this meeting. For him, the choice of this theme reinforces the private sector as to the government's desire to find solutions to the major concerns of the private sector in globalization.
