The CEO of the African Intellectual Property Organization suspended following suspicion of embezzlement. On October 14, 2021, Alimatou Shadiya Assouman, the Beninese Minister of Industry and Trade, also President of the Board of Directors of the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI), whose headquarters is in Yaoundé, Cameroonian capital , signed a decision suspending the director general of this pan-African organization.

The scandal that has shaken OAPI for several weeks, and which has just led to a new episode with the suspension of the CEO, also accused of having installed a climate of terror within the institution. To justify the suspension of Denis Loukou Bohoussou, the text mentions in particular "the refusal of the director general to enforce the decision to audit the management of the organization, in order to clarify the suspicions of bad governance and financial embezzlement directly jeopardizing the interests of the organization. This sanction comes as the management of the DG is denounced for having placed several billion FCFA in a bank presenting "no guarantee of confidence" and "unknown to the financial environment of OAPI".
