Operational within the framework of customs controls at the Autonomous Port of Cotonou, at the Bernardin Cardinal Gantin international airport of Cadjèhoun and at the various border posts, the company Benin Control is working to optimize the mobilization of customs revenue and to accelerate the process of collection of goods.

Guest of the Economist Club this Thursday, October 14, 2021, Gwendal Euzen, the General Manager of Benin Control, presented the various areas of intervention of his structure in the chain of transit operations and control of goods imported into Benin or in transit, then its relations with the Beninese customs for the happiness of the users of the customs cordon. 550 agents distributed throughout the national territory, a record time of 14 minutes between the entry and exit of a container, GPS beacons to provide information on goods in transit along the corridor, active electronic tracking of vehicles in transit; all this with real time savings.

According to Gwendal EUZEN, “at the end of the 2016 figures, customs revenue was around 300 billion over the year. At the end of September 2021, we had already exceeded 300 billion. We will probably land between 420 and 430 billion FCFA. From 300 billion 5 years ago, to 430 billion today, that's a leap of about 35%, 130 billion FCFA, it's huge”, he specifies. Benin Control intends to continue its efforts and achieve the total dematerialization of operations.
