As part of the implementation of the recovery strategy of the Association of West African Banks (Abao), the President of Abao, Thierno Seydou Nourou Sy visited Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, accompanied by Séga Baldé, general secretary of the Abao.

Recently elected President of the Association of West African Banks (Abao), Thierno Seydou Nourou Sy has begun implementing his strategy to relaunch this association bringing together the two hundred and fifty (250) commercial banks, financial establishments and financial institutions of the fifteen (15) countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). He held important meetings with the presidents of institutions such as Abdoulaye Diop, president of the UEMOA Commission; Malick Kamara Ndiaye, president of the Uemoa Court of Auditors and Idrissa Nassa, president of the Coris Bank Inyternational Group. During these hearings, he pointed out that the Abao needs consistent human, financial and technical resources to participate as it should in the realization of the major projects of ECOWAS: single currency, payment and settlement system. As these projects are advancing rapidly, the full involvement of all commercial banks and financial institutions in this area in their implementation is absolutely necessary because they will be the main operators.
