Shanxi Construction Investment Group Co. Ltd and the Government of Benin signed on Thursday, October 07, 2021 the construction contract for the administrative city of Abomey-Calavi. It was in the presence of the Minister of the Living Environment and Sustainable Development, José Tonato.

The project to provide adequate infrastructure where ministerial and other offices are concentrated is entering its active phase with the signing of the contract for the construction of ministerial and administrative buildings between (Société Immobilière et d'Aménagement Urbain (SImAU)) and the company Chinese Shanxi Construction Investment Group Co. Ltd. According to the Director General of SIMAU, Moïse Achille Houssou, the construction of an administrative city aims to put a definitive end to the leases to house the services of the State, to improve the supply of space and the convenience of work, and to improve the functionality of State services and allow users to gain speed in the processing of their files. He specifies that the realization of this project consists of the construction of 16 administrative buildings of the R+3 type totaling 60,080 m² of floor area (technical premises office buildings) together with car parks, a restaurant, conference rooms, a medical center, various works on the site (basin, footbridge, fence...), modern communication equipment...
