Clémentine Ananga Messina, Minister Delegate in charge of Rural Development at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Minader) chaired on Tuesday the launch ceremony for the development of the National Agricultural Financing Strategy (SNFA) in Yaoundé.

Cameroon is developing a national agricultural financing strategy. To this end, a workshop was organized by the Promotion of agricultural financing project for agricultural holdings and agro-industrial enterprises in rural areas (Giz/ProFina). During the two-day work, experts from public and private administrations, banks, microfinance institutions, representatives of producers, projects and other programs as well as technical and financial partners work on this new document. It will not be one more tool, but a synergy of what is already being done to achieve a harmonized approach for agricultural financing in Cameroon. The Promoting Agricultural Finance for Farms and Agribusinesses in Rural Areas project is a global project of the Sewoh Initiative, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. It aims to provide financial services adapted to the economic models of farms and agro-industrial SMEs in rural areas.
