Meridian Port Services (MPS) announces the delivery of berth 4 for October. The operator of terminal 3 of the port of Tema has great ambitions for the port of Tema.

After terminal 2 of the port of Tema, MPS continues to develop infrastructure to accommodate more volumes. The company financed the construction of terminal 3. The fourth berth of container terminal n°3 (in the port of Tema) will effectively become operational at the end of October 2021, i.e. 6 months before the contractual deadline for delivery of the site. The objective is to make the port of Tema a hub of the port industry in West and Central Africa. Thus, the infrastructure is the subject of enormous works undertaken by the consortium made up of Bolloré, APM and the Ghanaian State, concessionaire of terminal 3. With a total length of 400 m, quay n°4 which is a extension of Terminal 3, which up to now consisted of 3 operational berths, will enable the total length of the quays to be increased to 1.4 km. The structure will be dredged in accordance with the depth of the old quays, ie 16.9 m, in order to accommodate the latest generation ships with a carrying capacity of up to 24,000 TEUs.
