The Dakar-based National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) has announced that Senegal's exports have registered a drop compared to those of June. This drop is estimated at 4.1% in July 2021.

According to ANSD, the decline is mainly explained by that of shipments of fresh sea fish (-37.9%), hydraulic cement (-30.8%) and zirconium (-18.9%). Indeed, exports stood at 224.8 billion FCFA against 234.4 billion FCFA in June 2021, i.e. a decline of 9.6 billion FCFA. The increase in exports of phosphoric acid (+69.2%) attenuated this downward trend. Compared to July 2020, Senegal's external sales rose by 19.3%. Their total at the end of July 2021 stood at 1603.8 billion FCFA against 1399.1 billion FCFA for the same period of 2020, an increase of 14.6%. The main products exported by Senegal during the month of July 2021 are non-monetary gold (45.2 billion FCFA), phosphoric acid (34.7 billion FCFA), petroleum products (24. 0 billion FCFA), fresh sea fish (14.5 billion FCFA) and titanium (10.8 billion FCFA). These products were exported to India (18.9%), Switzerland (16.9%), Mali (15.8%), Australia (3.5%) and China (3.5%). ).
