A pre-validation workshop for the draft law governing organic farming in Cameroon was held on September 9 and 10, 2021 in Yaoundé. Chaired by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Agriculture, Clémentine Ananga Messina, this meeting aimed to collect the proposals of certain actors, in order to enrich the draft law in the making.

The finalization of this project should not only make it possible to formalize this type of agriculture, but also to conquer new outlets, due to the increasingly growing demand on the continent. However, despite the existence of demand which has been growing over the years, this type of agriculture is still very little popularized on the African continent. Indeed, in Africa, certified organic farming covers 1.8 million hectares, or only 0.2% of the continent's cultivated land, according to statistics from Ifoam (International Federation of Agricultural Movements organic) and FIBL (Organic Agriculture Research Institute).
