The fight against corruption is taking a new turn in Côte d'Ivoire. The Ivorian Minister for the Promotion of Good Governance, Capacity Building and the Fight against Corruption, Epiphane Zoro Ballo, launched on Tuesday the verification operation called "Punch". This operation attacks the structures delivering public services with a strong suspicion of corruption.

The "punch" operation is part of results 1 and 3 of the ministry's 2021 roadmap, which aim to deter actors from corruption and strengthen the relationship of trust between the State and citizens. . It consists in carrying out investigations in structures delivering public services. This initiative will make it possible to relieve the daily lives of Ivorians by curbing the most pernicious forms of corruption in these structures visited. The approach comprises three parts, namely the operations preparation phase, the operations implementation phase and the implementation phase of the anti-corruption system in the structures concerned. He specified that the preparation phase consisted in identifying a list of highly suspicious structures, identifying forms of corruption with a strong impact on the population and setting up investigation teams. The sectors of transport, health, education, construction, justice and the public service are in the sights of the ministry in charge of the Promotion of good governance and the fight against corruption.
