For a quick exit of Mauritius from the gray list, the members of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) delegation are increasing their meetings with the authorities. The FATF co-chair for the Africa/Middle East region, Fikile Zitha, and the other members of the delegation, had a long working session with the interministerial committee, chaired by Pravind Jugnauth.

The Mauritian government is once again demonstrating its commitment to implementing medium and long-term reforms to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism. After consultations, the members of the FATF delegation pointed out that, compared to the requirements of the FATF Action Plan, which has 40 recommendations, Mauritius has complied with 39 of them. Interviews were held with the heads of regulatory bodies and institutions responsible for combating corruption, brought together within the Core Group, namely the Bank of Mauritius, the Financial Services Commission, the Financial Intelligence Unit and the Independent Commission against Corruption (ICAC). In addition to meetings with representatives of Management Companies and financial and non-financial economic operators falling under the Designated Non-Financial Businesses Sector, the members of the delegation will visit the offices of institutions, companies, jewelry stores, gaming operators and real estate companies to ensure that they are all logistically and humanely equipped to avoid the risks of money laundering.
