The African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF), Africa's largest agricultural conference is being held in a hybrid format from September 6 to 10, 2021. To support this green revolution, the African Development Bank disbursed $100,000, or 55.24 million

CFA francs.

The African Development Bank's participation in AGRF 2021 is part of ongoing efforts to help align Africa's voice with the commitments that will be made at the United Nations Food Systems Summit later this year. Thus, as a sponsor, the pan-African institution allocated $100,000 to support the 2021 edition of the AGRF, which is led by African heads of state and government, and brings together delegates from governments, civil society, the private sector, and research communities. It is the Government of Kenya and the group of AGRF partners who are hosting this meeting organized under the theme, “Pathways to recovery and a resilient food system”. “As Covid-19 continues to cause disruptions across Africa, we need to prioritize supporting policies and facilities that focus on rebuilding infrastructure that promotes the production, processing, and availability of more — and more nutritious — food to feed Africa. AGRF is the platform to advance these policy conversations, addressing all facets of the continent's food system,” said Dr. Beth Dunford, AfDB Vice President for Agriculture, Human and Social Development
