Kano.
Capegate Investment decided to bring the start of a solution to Nigeria by generating electricity from plastic waste. The waste management company in Kano announced on Wednesday that it plans to produce 150 MW of electricity from waste in five years for the state. Three months ago, the company signed a 20-year public-private partnership with the government of Kano and took charge of waste management in the state. The company's goal is to produce 10 MW of electricity from Kano's waste by the end of next year. Over the next few years, Capegate Investment hopes to be able to produce 30 MW, depending on the evolution of waste typology. The ambition of the waste management company is to eventually employ more than 5,000 people.
