With an investment of 3.2 billion FCFA, Niger is improving access to broadband and connectivity in the city. The Governor of Zinder, Issa Moussa chaired on Thursday, August 20 in the premises of the Town Hall of Zinder, the launching ceremony of the laying of optical fiber in Zinder City and Zinder -Maimoujia (department of Kantché - Nigeria border).

The works are initiated and carried out by the mobile telephone operator Airtel Niger at a cost of 3.2 billion francs and will consist of the deployment of optical fiber in this agglomeration, the second largest in Niger. The project comprises three components, namely the construction of a Data center in Zinder, the construction of a 123 KM -Zinder -Maimoujia fiber optic link on the Nigerian border and the construction of a 12 KM fiber optic link in the city of Zinder. This link will enable the Zinder region to give impetus to development in the educational and school environment, to strengthen the participation of rural communities and vulnerable social strata in national economic life and to reduce poverty by creating qualified job opportunities. in disadvantaged areas.
