The National Telecommunications Company of Senegal (Sonatel) recorded strong performances in the first half of 2021. The consolidated turnover of the group, which includes subsidiaries in Mali, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone, increased posted an increase of 9.3% in the first half of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020.

At the end of the period under review, the net result increased by 32.2%, standing at 118.9 billion FCFA against 89.9 billion FCFA in the first half of 2020. The Free Cash-Flow is also in clear increase of 11% to 173.4 billion FCFA against 156.3 billion FCFA a year earlier. The investments of the Sonatel group amounted to 103.2 billion FCFA against a level of 90.8 billion FCFA as of June 30, 2020, an increase of 13.7%. In outlook for the second half of 2021, the leaders of the Sonatel group intend to continue their investment program with the aim of preparing the networks and service platforms to carry even more traffic with an excellent quality of service but also to deploy new offers. and innovations to accelerate the group's transformation into a multi-service operator.
